Get Involved!

Parent and family involvement is essential to our success. Parents most often serve as the Learning Guide. Parents will also have a key role in the nomination and election of the South Carolina Calvert Academy Governing Board and may serve on the Board or on committees and task forces appointed by the Board. The Principal and Board will solicit input and feedback from parents to determine policies, regulations and procedures. Parents will also provide input regarding the academic experience, extracurricular activities or operational matters.  Parents may participate via online discussion boards, e-mail, direct mail, webinars, and/or town hall meetings.

New! for the 2015-16 School Year — SC Calvert Academy Parents’ Club

  • Do you sometimes have a question that you would like to ask other parents about how they are working with their children or how they are using the curriculum?
  • Maybe you need help setting up your schedule?
  • Are your school books taking over your house and you would like tips on how to set up your school space so you don’t have to do a quick clean before you answer the door?
  • How is your time management?
  • Are you getting things completed daily or are you just making it through the day and will catch up tomorrow or on the weekend?
  • Are you friends with your computer and scanner or do you need help figuring out how to work together?
  • Are you having trouble with Math and need to brush up on your skills so you can help your children?

Then you need to come to a SC Calvert’s Parents’ Club meeting. This is a club just for you! You can ask your questions and find out what other parents are doing and find out if your teachers have any suggestions.

We can show you how to be friends with your computer and scanner. You can hear from parents that have been with our school for a while and find out how they schedule their days and how they are able to motivate their kids to work.

You do not have to be isolated anymore. We will meet twice a month and work together to make this year even better. Your kids are making friends in their classes and clubs, now it is your turn.
