South Carolina Calvert Academy Seventh Grade

Course Materials

Seventh Grade students continue to build strong grammar and composition skills through descriptive and expository writing. The spelling program further incorporates grammar.

Seventh Grade Calvert Math emphasizes problem-solving steps. Advanced concepts such as variables, formulas, fractions, and statistics are introduced in our pre-algebra course.

The science program delves deeper into the life and physical sciences and introduces your child to the characteristics of living things, the chemical nature of matter and ecology.

Your child will learn about networks, web researching and validation, desktop publishing, and databases in our comprehensive technology program.

In addition to continuing courses in literature and poetry, your child will study geographic subjects such as thematic maps and the Eastern hemisphere.

Your child continues the study of modern world cultures from 1600’s to the present. The art history course continues with the third volume of A Child’s History of Art: Architecture, and he or she will apply these lessons by designing his or her own structures in the art unit.
